Camille Leblanc-Bazinet Transitions from Athlete to Coach for Invitational
Camille Leblanc-Bazinet is no stranger to the CrossFit community.
In fact, this veteran has a total of seven Reebok CrossFit Games appearances and won the title of Fittest Woman on Earth in 2014. In addition, Cami has attended the Reebok CrossFit Invitational on three separate occasions.
This year though, Leblanc-Bazinet takes on a new role as coach for the Canadian Team.
“I was super excited to be asked to return as a coach, especially because it is in my home town. It means so much more that I can represent my country at home,” shares Leblanc-Bazinet. “I feel a little bit more pressure as a coach because it is unknown terrain for me but I am stoked to show a new side of me.”
Although the members of the team all currently reside across different areas of Canada and even the US, Leblanc-Bazinet gives us an insider’s view on the Canadian Team’s preparations for the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Invitational: “We are trying to communicate with each other every day mostly to build a strong team dynamic and get to know each other well.”
Really cool day today getting together with these fellow Canadians to get ready for the @crossfitgames #invitational A special shout out to @renob1 for filling in for @fikowski. Can't wait to throw down, we will be hard to beat!

For the first time, the CrossFit Invitational will be held on Canadian soil, and competition is tough! The Canadian team’s adversaries include the two-time Fittest Woman on Earth Katrin Davidsdottir and CrossFit superstars Rich Froning, Ben Smith, Tia Toomey and Kara Webb.
“The Invitational just gets better and better every year. The organization and the flow of the competition have improved too. Each team is much more strategic,” shares Leblanc-Bazinet.
Leblanc-Bazinet’s advice for her team's Invitational rookies— Brent Fikowski, Pat Vellner and Carol-Ann Reason-Thibault: “It's about teamwork and coming together with the opportunity of representing their country. Give it your all.”
Don’t forget to tune in this Sunday November 20th and cheer on the Canadian Team as they face off against global athletes at home!
